Esta pesquisa teve como tema os desafios que os agentes comunitários de saúde (ACS) e os agentes de combate às endemias (ACE) encontram no agir comunicativo relacionado à prevenção de dengue, zika e chikungunya. O cenário atual dos problemas em saúde pública, como o caso da epidemia de dengue, zika e chikungunya, exige um enfrentamento em que a informação e a comunicação em saúde tornam-se imperativas. No decorrer deste trabalho, tentou-se responder à seguinte pergunta de pesquisa: como ocorrem os processos de comunicação entre os agentes de saúde e de endemias e a comunidade para a prevenção de dengue, zika e chikungunya? Sobre esse tema e seus desdobramentos nos debruçarmos doravante. A abordagem metodológica aqui adotada é a hermenêutica dialética. Essa combinação de oposições complementares que apresenta a hermenêutica dialética é essencial para a compreensão das relações e interações estabelecidas entre os sujeitos envolvidos. Foram entrevistados 64 ACS e ACE nas cinco regiões do país, sendo um munícipio por região. Além de ser atualmente um desafio para o processo de comunicação dos agentes de saúde e de endemias com a comunidade para a prevenção de dengue, zika e chikungunya, a gestão da informação torna-se imperativa para a superação de outros desafios. O ambiente de compreensão da gestão de informações ganha relevância na medida em que sua aplicabilidade depende do entendimento do papel dessa gestão por parte dos agentes comunitários de saúde e de endemias. Introdução: A dengue, zika e chikungunya são desafios em saúde pública em todo o mundo, especialmente no Brasil, de maneira que o controle vetorial e a participação popular são imprescindíveis para o combate à essas doenças. Metodologia: Realizou-se uma revisão sistemática abrangente sem restrições de linguagem e com seleção de estudos até 2018, visando identificar evidências científicas sobre conhecimentos, atitudes e práticas da população e dos profissionais de saúde na prevenção à dengue, zika e chikungunya. Resultados: Foram identificados 115 estudos elegíveis, a maioria publicados entre 2013 e 2018 (67%/n=77), relatando estudos realizados na América (52,2%/n=60) e Ásia (43,5%/n=50). Os resultados foram separados em três categorias: 1) Conhecimentos gerais e percepções de risco sobre as doenças; 2) Atitudes e Práticas referidas; e 3) Fontes de Informação. Verificou-se que em relação à zika e a chikungunya, tanto os profissionais de saúde quanto a população geral ainda não assimilaram as informações sobre os principais sintomas e características dessas arboviroses. Em relação à dengue, observa-se fortes associações entre nível de escolaridade, sexo e idade e o conhecimento da doença. Quanto as atitudes e práticas, observa-se que há correlação entre as práticas referidas e o conhecimento gerais sobre as arboviroses e o vetor. Considerações finais: Segundo os dados apresentados, demonstra-se que boa parte da população estudada já ouviu falar sobre a dengue, zika e chikungunya, seus sintomas, seu vetor, e as formas de controle/prevenção à doença, assim como as práticas de prevenção ao desenvolvimento do vetor estão assimiladas, entretanto, em parte dos estudos, tais práticas não se mostraram satisfatórias ou foram realizadas por uma pequena proporção dos estudados. Adotou-se a análise de conteúdo temática. Os diálogos gravados, foram transcritos, categorizados e interpretados. Resultados: Emergiram as seguintes categorias de análise: Forma de acesso ao conteúdo das campanhas de comunicação; Natureza estética das mensagens analisadas; Identificação com o público, situações e mensagens das campanhas; e, Avaliação da qualidade do material no cumprimento de seus objetivos. Conclusões: Observou-se a necessidade de descentralizar ações de comunicação, investindo em estratégias interpessoais e comunitárias considerando contextos locais. Considera-se que o alerta de perigo é importante em situações de riscos, mas faltam habilidades aos comunicadores envolvidos. However, the integration of qualitative and quantitative approaches continues to be one of much debate and there is a need for a rigorous framework for designing and interpreting mixed methods research. This paper explores the analytical approaches (i.e. parallel, concurrent or sequential) used in mixed methods studies within healthcare and exemplifies the use of triangulation as a methodological metaphor for drawing inferences from qualitative and quantitative findings originating from such analyses. Design: This review of the literature used systematic principles in searching CINAHL, Medline and PsycINFO for healthcare research studies which employed a mixed methods approach and were published in the English language between January 1999 and September 2009. Results: In total, 168 studies were included in the results. Most studies originated in the United States of America (USA), the United Kingdom (UK) and Canada. The analytic approach most widely used was parallel data analysis. A number of studies used sequential data analysis; far fewer studies employed concurrent data analysis. Very few of these studies clearly articulated the purpose for using a mixed methods design. The use of the methodological metaphor of triangulation on convergent, complementary, and divergent results from mixed methods studies is exemplified and an example of developing theory from such data is provided. There are few studies addressing nurses' work in the rural context. This study aimed to investigate the satisfaction and difficulties of the work of primary health care (PHC) nurses in rural areas. Method: This is a case study with a qualitative approach, whose subject was the health units in the rural area of a large city in the state of Paraíba, Brazil, with Family Health Strategy teams. Eleven nurses working in rural areas participated in the study. Data were collected through interviews with semi-structured scripts and submitted to content analysis. Results: The study revealed that nurses working in rural areas have experienced job satisfaction with the recognition and gratitude of families, one of the major motivations for professionals interviewed. The nurses are committed and have adequate training in their area of activity. The working conditions, infrastructure, forms of access to the workplace and distance from the decision center are factors that stand out as difficulties of work. Conclusions: The nurses appreciate each other in their work, establish good relations with the population and work as a team despite the difficulties. The study reveals that nurses and the population experience isolation in the rural area as well as difficulty in accessing the workplace, in the case of practitioners, and in consolidating policies maintained in the urban area. No Brasil vem sendo criadas políticas para a redução das desigualdades em saúde dos diversos grupos de populações rurais do país, mas essas políticas não se efetivaram completamente. A primeira categoria revelou que a população rural tem condições de vida e saúde precárias; a maioria constituída de agricultores, aposentados, com elevado número de pessoas desempregadas. A Unidade de Saúde da Família constitui a única alternativa de acesso à saúde e há isolamento dessa população em relação ao uso de tecnologias de comunicação e informação. A segunda categoria descreve as dificuldades inerentes às condições de trabalho dos enfermeiros. As principais dificuldades foram: percurso longo percorrido pelo enfermeiro para acesso às Unidades de Saúde da Família rurais por meio de rodovia asfaltada e estrada de terra; cronograma de trabalho diferenciado em função das particularidades existentes do meio rural que influenciam o acesso ao serviço. A terceira categoria mostra que as práticas cotidianas dos enfermeiros estão focadas em grupos já conhecidos pelos protocolos ministeriais, como crianças, hipertensos, diabéticos, além de ações programáticas e de atendimento individual à demanda espontânea. Essas práticas são influenciadas pelas condições de trabalho, como transporte precário no deslocamento para as áreas rurais, falta de água nas unidades, o que é essencial para realizar os procedimentos e a assistência. Os enfermeiros identificam que o trabalho produz sentido positivo ao perceberem a satisfação pessoal no trabalho, crescimento e aprendizado, identificação com o trabalho, utilidade da atividade que realizam, vínculo com a população e a inserção e contribuição social do trabalho.
